儘管特首林鄭日前明言餘下個多月的任期內無意再放寬入境限制，但國泰（293）對前景似乎仍有信心，近日積極部署復飛，向前機艙服務員發電郵邀請回巢，稱期望數個月讓更多乘客往返更多城市。
國泰在電郵中指鑑於近期港府調整旅行限制和檢疫要求，措施有助於支持逐步恢復旅客往返香港，認為相關變化是香港、客戶、以至對公司業務而言都是朝著正確方向邁出重要一步，公司期待在未來幾個月內讓更多乘客往返於更多目的地，稱現時正是開始重建團隊的合適時機，所以發信聯繫已離職的機艙服務員、邀請回巢，並在文尾附上申請鏈結。
受疫情影響，國泰於2020年10月削減8,500個全球就業職位，屬東亞地區航空業最大規模的裁員計劃，當中牽涉約5,300個以香港為基地的員工，並宣布國泰港龍航空即時結業。
今次國泰在信件中稱過去兩年對公司是一段具挑戰性的光蔭，將2020年裁員事件形容當時決定與為數眾多的同事「分道揚鑣」殊非易事，分別非意味離職員工的能力有問題，感謝前員工們當日表示願意保持聯絡。
據報，國泰本月中已經開始作出超前部署，有意於六月份再展開大型招聘活動，有傳需招聘人手數目達3,000人之多，計及工程人員等，未來實際招聘人數或有6,000至7,000人，半數為空中服務員。
不過，空中服務員的待遇可能大不如前之餘，限制亦會更多。據報國泰近日發出內部通告，是要求機組人員使用指定應用程式，記錄機組人員回港後7日的一切行蹤，包括到訪朋友定中，被形容為「加辣版安心出行」，而國泰在通告中指上載資料的要求，是港府向機組人員放寬檢疫要求的附帶條件，警告員工若未能滿足要求，將面臨嚴重紀律處分，甚或被解僱。
國泰今早股價表現平穩，10時30分報7.81元，微升0.13%。
